SPRING ARISING ...

Well today started misty again and the temp didn't really clear until the afternoon but my morning perimeter walk with the trio (two little & one large) captured some fine details like this ladybird hiding in the mahonia buds ...
so much is coming into bloom and this just the second day in March. At home the full lambing hasn't even begun (and of course there is the worry that this Schmallenburg virus is not yet confirmed over the border in Wales, yet one farmer locally has already lost 30 -35% of his lambs due to this midge born pathogen. We wait with bated breath)
But ... here at least the garden has tiny hidden surprises such as this hook and chain that helped (with a cane) the clematis to climb and entwine up into the branches of an old apple tree. The poor old tree is well past its best but keeps on struggling on (I know how that feels, being past my use by date and then some)
but ... nature has a way of re-balancing life. You lose some, you gain other things, that's the beauty of the life cycle, be it  habitat or human experience!
Now ... there may seem to be no liquid coming out of the watering can spout but the mahonia is beginning to bloom despite the drought here in the "Bread basket of Britain"

Now, like trees we humans grow in concentric rings and all the experiences we go through can teach us something about ourselves and how we adapt to our environment, sometimes we go through drought, other times we are watered with compassion and also kindness and that helps us grow new shoots for the future, though we may not realise it at the time ...

who kens what Spring will bring for us?
New fresh exuberant growth or ... hard pruning ... who knows?
