IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR

This morning the body was weak, though the mind willing and from inside looking out, the skies were bright with wonderful sunshine. Outside ... the westerly winds were cold at below ten degrees, but the clouds were playing on high. Chasing each other across their vast blue playground, they were having a great time up above us mere mortals below
and scudding low across the cold, wind blown horizon, that appeared to be so dark in contrast.
It was too cold to be out for long, I just wanted to see the mountain views.
I headed back down to noticeably warmer, more sheltered levels.
In St Illtyds Church a cheerful, busy band of volunteers were decking out the interior in preparation for the two Christmas concerts to be held there over the next few weeks.
At this time of year, when the leaves have departed the trees, it can all look rather bare. After all the rain we had last night the ground was a bit soggy, but inside there was a hive of activity as the old place was being transformed  with a huge tree which the children decorated. Fresh greenery scented the air over the archway to the knave. I bet you're intrigued ... ...
The windows sills had greenery, the main font supported scenes of of the Nativity and wreaths were hung upon the doors. Meanwhile outside ... the tracery of the trees, against an almost crystal clear sky, this captivated my attention ...
So you want a sneak preview inside? This is what can be seen as you enter the interior ..
I just love this beautiful barrel roof in here and  it means the acoustics are wonderful.

Despite the lights, my camera flash went off. This miniature St Illtyds in one of the three stone windows, seem bright, snowy white with all the colourful holly and candles. On the night will be a full brass band and singers.
And ... a sing to the rafters audience ...

A good night will be had by all and afterwards may they be safe homeward bound!
