CAROLS & COLOUR

Well you've seen the outside of St Illtyds, this is the inside as seen before the carol singing.
The wonderful barrel roof means that the acoustics in here are just absolutely wonderful.
And here's a closer look at the tree which the kids had a great time decorating
As we headed toward the church last night, there was just the first falling of fine snow,
what timing! The path was lit with L.E.D lights, leading to the wonderfull warmth within. It was soon filled to standing room only ... time for the band to lead us in song ...
The church was full of warmth and harmony. It was nice to see the old building being used, as it so often stands empty. But at this time of year she just glows.

Well, we all had a wonderful evening and many of us afterwards went for a warm toddy in the pub as outside the temperature dropped but the snow had just been a brief show.
Even so the many cars froze. Lifts were offered by the sober, others walked back home. This morning, the sun again shone brightly and what frost there had begun to melt. I found one of the dogs toys in the chilliness of the garden ...his woolly mammoth ...
I wonder if that's a sign of things to come? But all is not so wintry yet ... there are still unusual things blooming, the cowslip in the churchyard, the fuscia by the cottages  & this,
a beautifully frost edged plant but right next to it, something much more summery ...
an incredibly colourful, bright red rose!

  3. Birds nesting? Good god, what is the world coming to? I did notice a couple of crows one day looking like they were courting but concluded they were probably paired up for life and were just strengthening the bond. Mebbes the weather you are now receiving will put the world to rights. By the forecast you are now getting hit worse than us, wrap up warm.
