THE JUNK DUMPERS.

Yep, Dafad is feeling a tad grumpy today and part of the reason for this is there is a certain type of activity that happens on the mountain, especially on damp misty or rainy days, when ... certain folk think they will not be easily seen ... fly tipping!  Now regular followers of this blog will know that I quite often photograph the more humorous sights to be seen in the rubbish people dump. But ... I've got to know our environmental officers well over the years because I regularly meet them on site as they look for addresses etc. Not that there was any hope in this lot that was still burning at midday last month ...

Luckily, the then dry wood of the forestry didn't catch fire or we would have had an unplanned Jubilee beacon which would indeed have been seen from miles away and probably across the channel in England. They don't care where they dump their junk, right in the roads and tracks, sometimes blocking access.
This lot last week, looked as if someone had stripped the innards out of a vehicle, one has to wonder why. But all around were grazing sheep and the site is an eyesore. No signs of any paperwork to identify the source of this particular offence, but I did find something that kind of amused me. In amongst all the bits of car, this ...
an angel fallen from grace and left by the side of the road in a large pile of rubbish. It kind of summed up the whole situation really, probably folk from tidy homes thinking that the commons is vast enough to be used like a council waste site with no care for the beauty of the open to all countryside, or for farmers and their flocks and walkers and their dogs.
The type that hang fluffy dice from their rear view mirrors, then grow out of them and ...
yes ... dump them too!
