LOCAL FISH & CHIPS

How about that for a stunning first photograph of the day, clouds over Cwm forest. It's funny sometimes where life leads me. I never know when the day begins, where I will go.
A lot of course is weather dependent, but this morning ... my mouse died. Now before you get all sad and think "Poor little critter." or some such similar sentiment, and no, I haven't had a return of the "Tiny Miners" as mentioned on my blog of April 3rd; it was my computer mouse that snuffed it, bang in the middle of trying to do something on the pooter! So, that meant the direction of travel was towards P.C.Doctors for a new one.

But meanwhile there was a forest track to be explored, I just love this division between Forestry Commission and old deciduous beech tree marked boundaries
Such as this lovely "candelabra" shaped ash tree. And ... this cloud that looks like a smoke ring or a doughnut  formed from a cloud in the sky.

Then there was the barley, recently harvested ...
just the stubble remains, but already greening up for the next crop, whatever that may be.
and then back to the car to pick up a brand new mouse. This is the downhill road ahead ...
which led us to a very special Fish & Chip shop
This, is the birth place of Victor Spinetti. He was born above this "Chip shop" in 1929.
There are photographic memorials of him  and his family, proudly displayed ...
Victor Spinnetti, despite his Italianate roots considered himself Welsh born and  also appeared in several Beatles films. In 2oo5 he was made an Honorary member of the University of Wales, quite an accolade for a man born in such humble beginnings.
He died of cancer in June this  year.
There is a lovely motto displayed in the shop. "We do not serve fast food but we serve the best food as fast as we can." and Joe's Fish & Chip Shop really does do the best. Yum!
